Who can invest on TheGymCrowd?

TheGymCrowd is open to UK-based investors who self-certify as either a High Net Worth Individual or a Self-Certified Sophisticated Investor under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion) Order 2005. You will complete a short certification process before accessing investment opportunities.

What does 'high net worth' or 'sophisticated investor' mean?

These are legal categories defined by UK financial regulation. A High Net Worth Individual typically has annual income above a threshold or net assets above a threshold (exact figures confirmed by FCA). A Sophisticated Investor meets specific criteria such as being a member of a business angel network, having worked in private equity, or having previously invested in unlisted companies. You will be guided through the certification process on the platform.

What types of investments are listed on TheGymCrowd?

We focus exclusively on UK gym and leisure facilities raising equity capital. Each deal is an unlisted security — you are buying a direct stake in a specific facility or operating company, not a fund or index.

What are the risks?

Investing in unlisted businesses is high-risk. You may lose all of the money you invest. These investments are illiquid — there is no guarantee you can sell your stake. Past performance of the sector is not a reliable indicator of future returns. Only invest money you can afford to lose.

Is TheGymCrowd regulated by the FCA?

TheGymCrowd is in the process of establishing its regulatory position with the FCA. Full details of our regulatory status will be confirmed before any investment opportunities are listed. If you have questions, contact us directly.

How does the certification process work?

When you create an account, you will be guided through a short self-certification process. You will declare your investor status, confirm you have read the prescribed risk warnings, and sign the declaration. Certification is valid for 12 months, after which you will be asked to re-certify.

When will deals be available?

We are currently preparing our first investment opportunities. Register your interest and we will notify you as soon as deals are live.

Is my data safe?

We take data security seriously. Your certification information is stored securely and retained for the period required by our legal and regulatory obligations. See our privacy notice for full details.
